Which Restylane Filler Is Right For You?

Jul 28, 2022

Looking for a way to get rid of wrinkles or add volume to a specific area of your face? If so, dermal fillers may be the solution you are looking for. Dermal fillers are a non-surgical injectable treatment used for filling in certain types of wrinkles, adding temporary volume to the lips, cheek or chin or in some cases, even as a temporary rhinoplasty alternative. One popular brand we carry at Visage is Restylane, a hyaluronic acid injectable filler formulated to minimize wrinkles and add volume to areas of the face and hands.

What makes Restylane unique?

Restylane's innovative technologies allows them to offer a versatile range of dermal fillers.

  • Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a material that is already present in our skin. All Restylane products are made from an FDA-approved modified version of the body's naturally occurring HA.

  • NASHA Technology gives each formula a different particle size. Finer particles are used for products meant for fine wrinkles and detailed shaping, whereas larger particles are used in products developed for severe wrinkles and greater volume. Used in Restylane, Restylane Silk and Restylane Lyft.

  • XpresHAn Technology™ is a unique formulation meant for dynamic areas of the face which allows for natural movement while still giving you subtle volume. Used in Restylane Kysse, Restylane Refyne and Restylane Defyne.

What Restylane fillers do we carry at Visage?

  • Restylane: Corrects moderate-severe wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds, and adds volume to lips.
  • Restylane-L: Restylane combined with 0.3% Lidocaine to decrease discomfort during & after treatment.
  • Restylane Refyne: Treats moderate smile and laugh lines.
  • Restylane Defyne: Treats deep smile and laugh lines; also used for temporary chin augmentation.
  • Restylane Kysse: Natural-looking and flexible lip filler for temporary lip augmentation.
  • Restylane Lyft: Thicker filler that provides volume & lift to the cheek, midface and back of hands.
  • Restylane Contour: Temporary cheek augmentation.

How long do Restylane fillers last?

Restylane's results last 6 to 15 months depending on the exact filler and treatment area.

What are the side effects?

Temporary redness and/or swelling at the injection site is common but resolves quickly. As with any injection, bruising is also a possibility. Some areas, like the under-eye, potentially bruise more than others. Read this guide on how to prepare for cosmetic injections in order to minimize side effects.
