Benefits of Wearing Sunscreen Every Day | Viságe
As we wrap up summer and approach fall, we cannot forget to maintain sun protection.

Sunscreen is not just for summer. Daily sunscreen helps protect your skin from sunburn, premature aging, discoloration and harmful UV exposure throughout every season, including cloudy days.
Not only will sunscreen prevent you from getting sunburn on a very sunny day, but it will also protect against facial aging,
wrinkling and hyperpigmentation. Some studies show that exposure to sun contributes to over 80% of visible signs of premature aging and reduces the amount of collagen in the skin. Sunscreen will also reduce the risk of developing harmful skin cancers. Even small exposures of sunlight, while in your car or through an office window, over time, will cause damage. It is very important for you to protect yourself daily.

Broad-spectrum sunscreen like Alastin’s HydraTint Pro Mineral Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 36 protects against UVA and UVB rays. UVA protection works deeper in the dermis to protect against the longer wavelength UVA rays that cause aging, wrinkling and skin cancer. UVB protection works more superficially in the skin surface and epidermis protecting against the shorter wavelength UVB rays which cause sunburn and skin cancer. Both are necessary to keep the skin safe from sun damage. Additionally, the product contains antioxidants to protect against pollution, infrared and blue light. You usually want an SPF of 30 or higher which will block approximately 97% of the sun’s rays.
Alastin’s sunscreen is mineral-based. Mineral-based sunscreens use physical barriers like titanium dioxide and zinc oxide to help reflect radiation away from the skin as opposed to chemical filters that absorb the chemical rays and release the energy as heat. Unlike most mineral-based sunscreens, Alastin’s product does not leave a white cast on the skin.

The product has a self-adjusting, glowing tint that acts as a tinted moisturizer. Often people don’t feel the need to apply any additional makeup after applying the sunscreen. The tint adjusts to most skin tones. It helps to even and brighten the skin giving your face a subtle glow without feeling sticky or shiny.
In addition to sunscreen, there are other things you can do to reduce UV exposure. You can wear wide brimmed hats and find shaded areas. You can also avoid direct sun during peak UV hours – between 10AM and 4PM. Also remember to re-apply sunscreen every two hours and immediately after swimming or heavy sweating.
This sunscreen is great for sensitive skin, aging skin, and acne-prone skin. It is also paraben-free, gluten-free, and cruelty-free. The formula is free of fragrance, oil-free, reef-friendly, and water-resistant 40 minutes.
