Ask An Expert: Should I Wait For Fillers And Botulinum To Dissolve Before Having A Facelift?

Anand Patel • March 17, 2021

Question: "I'm 52 years old and considering a facelift (with a neck lift) to fix my sagging neckline and reduce my jowls. Six months ago I had filler put in my cheeks and around my mouth, and botulinum in my forehead and neck. Should I wait for these to dissolve before having a facelift/neck lift?"

Answer: "It really depends on the procedure. For a full face and neck lift I would want the cheek filler dissolved as it may limit the lift in that area. For a lower facelift or mini facelift, I do not think it is necessary to wait."
