Breaking down facial treatment areas with neuromodulators (i.e., Botox/Dysport) and soft tissue fillers with Layla, PA-C.

Forehead Neuromodulators help relax and soften the horizontal forehead wrinkles. Injection into this area, as well as into the glabella, can also help improve symptoms of migraine headaches. Doses for cosmetic purposes vs treatment for relief of symptoms will vary.

Glabella – Neuromodulators are used to soften the muscle movements that create the 11 lines between the eyebrows. If you are looking to fill deep wrinkles that are present without movement, a filler such as Radiesse may be used.

Crow’s feet – Neuromodulators are used for the wrinkles around the eyes to help brighten/open the eyes and subtly lift the lateral tail of the eyebrows.

Temples - Filler can add volume to hollow temples while also providing a slight lift to the outer brow and cheeks.

Bunny lines – A few units of neuromodulator can be injected into the fine lines at the bridge of the nose to soften the scrunchy bunny lines.

Nose - Filler can be used to fill in contour irregularities on the bridge of the nose. A full correction can be achieved in 1-2 treatments.

Cheeks – Filler may be added to the cheeks to help enhance the cheek bones or fill the gaunt areas below the cheeks.

Nasolabial folds – Filler can be used in this area to fill in volume loss, generally Restylane Refyne or Defyne are the treatments of choice.

Smoker’s lines/vertical lip lines – A very small amount of neuromodulator can be injected into the vertical lip lines to help soften the movement that purses the lips. Injection into this area will also give the effect of a ‘lip flip.’ Please note that injection into this area may inhibit your ability to suck out of a straw, because we are relaxing the orbicularis oris muscle.

Gummy smile – Neuromodulators can help lower the positioning of the upper lip and camouflage a gummy smile. Generally, only a few units are needed to help adjust the position of the upper lip.

Lips – Neuromodulators or a filler like Restylane Kysse can be injected into the lips, depending on what sort of outcome you are looking to achieve. Neuromodulators will provide a subtle eversion/flip to the lip, while filler will provide more of a plumping effect.

Chin/jawline – Neuromodulators can improve chin dimpling or pebbling, while a filler such as Radiesse can augment the chin or lower jawline.

Masseter muscles – Neuromodulators can be added to the masseter muscles to provide facial slimming of the lower face and improve symptoms of TMJ. Doses for cosmetic purposes vs treatment for relief of symptoms will vary.

Neck/platysma bands – Neuromodulators can be injected into the platysma muscle to relax the vertical neck bands temporarily.
