Ask An Expert: What Can I Do To Add Definition To My Chin/Lower Face?

November 10, 2021

Question: "What can I do about my chin/lower face? I work out 5 days a week so weight loss isn't the issue. I'm 39 years old and this is hereditary. I've had this my entire life. I want my double chin gone and any kind of jaw line would be great.

Answer: "I would recommend a prejowl chin implant. Patients who have never had a nice jawline (even in their youth) often have a bony deficiency in the prejowl area (the part of the jawline just in front of the jowl) that makes it look like they have heavier jowls. This implant will create a smoother jawline. This can be coupled with a submentoplasty (a procedure that addresses neck laxity and fullness) to also sharpen the neckline."
