Visage Facial Plastic Surgery is looking for certified professionals to provide medical and administrative support for our busy plastic surgery practice. 

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program or equivalent experience.


  • Previous experience in surgical field preferred.


  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).


  • Caring and honest (high character a must).


  • Proactive work ethic.


  • Customer service-oriented attitude.


  • Professional demeanor.


  • Telephone, verbal, and written communication skills.


  • Detail-oriented organization skills.


  • Word processing & spreadsheet data entry.


  • Point-of-sale transactions.


  • Ability to multi-task.


  • Surgical assist skills, a plus!

Position Details

Work week: Mon-Fri, 9 AM - 5 PM


Starting wage: Negotiable DOE


Monthly bonus: After initial probation period


Benefits: Holiday pay, individual medial/dental/vision, 401K


PTO accrual schedule for full-time position:


  • 10 days in first year
  • 15 days/yr for years 1-5
  • 20 days/yr for years 5-10
  • 25 days/yr for >10 years
  • Rolls over to next year

Responsibilities

  • Professionally greet and build rapport with patients.


  • Coordinate patient flow into and out of exam rooms.


  • Educate patients when appropriate regarding office policies, preoperative preparedness, treatment options, postoperative care.


  • Communication using appropriate medical terminology.


  • Perform accurate, legal, and ethical medical documentation at all times.


  • Measure and record vital signs.


  • Perform and facilitate suture removal and wound care.


  • Maintain knowledge of BLS technique and AED usage.


  • Set patient expectations for physician visit.


  • Assess patient aesthetic goals and relevant medical history.


  • Prepare necessary equipment and supplies for examination and care.


  • Position patient appropriately in anticipation of physician visit.


  • Prepare surgical fields.


  • First assist with office procedures.


  • Maintain safe and clean exam/procedure rooms and back office area.


  • Maintain stock of all back office equipment and supplies necessary for continued operation.


  • Clean, sterilize, maintain quality of exam/surgical instrumentation.


  • Maintain OSHA safety standards.


  • Maintain electronic medical records and/or paper charts.


  • Manage medication prescriptions.


  • Manage laboratory specimens and reports.


  • Preparing presurgical and postsurgical paperwork.


  • Preparing correspondence letters.


  • Learning and maintaining proficiency in necessary computer skills.


  • Basic point-of-service financial transactions and accounting.


  • Participate in external and internal marketing efforts.


  • Assist front office when appropriate in their duties.
